In June 2006, we changed our name and logo from Southwestern Oregon Community Action Comity Inc. to Oregon Coast Community Action as part of a national campaign to create a compelling image of Community Action.  The “huggy” heart is symbolic of the national byline,  “Community Action Partnership — Helping People. Changing Lives.”

We incorporated the orca and wave to bring our name to life and symbolize our vision that through community action all south coast families can thrive and live with dignity, security, and hope.

The wave symbolizes the power we have to help others by working together. The orca symbolizes a close-knit community where resources are shared to feed, house, warm, and educate.
