If you're interested in helping local kids, you can make a difference by working with the Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) program of Coos County. The CASA program will host an open house on Sept. 7, 2010, to help the community learn how to help local kids. The Open House will take place from 4 to 6 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 7, 2010, at the new CASA office, located at 379 N. Adams Street, in Coquille.
CASA, a program of Oregon Coast Community Action and the Coos County Commission on Children and Families, gives children a voice in court by advocating for their best interests and helping children to be placed in safe and permanent homes.
Community members interested in learning more about how to help provide a voice to children in need are invited to attend this exciting event. CASA Volunteers are currently needed to advocate for children in Coos County, and additional volunteers are needed to help with basic tasks such as office work and more.
