2008 Oregon Housing and Community Services Conference
Lots of us attended the conference in Salem and from what I can tell we all came back with a new perspective. I personally heard the key note speakers saying to me “if not NOW when and if not YOU who!” I’m sure none of them said that exactly but that’s what I heard.
It was fascinating to hear that we might be on the next Presidents important organizations list and that our ideas are being requested. Our political leaders want to know from us what will do the job to help end poverty.
To that end we will be having a meeting at the end of October to come up with our BHAGs (Big Hairy Audacious Goals) for federal programs. We need to be able to tell our leaders what we want funding for and what it will do to help our community. So I challenge YOU to think about it… what can you do to help our community and the families in it THRIVE!

PS. Our Laurie Hall won the basket draw… she always wins…well at least there are some things we can count on!
PSS. No eating was not all we did…well its a lot of what we did! ; )
