There is a Head Start family who is need of a washer/dryer set. If you have a used set you are willing to donate, arrangements can be made to pick it up, please call Jen S. at 888-7188.
Kudos to Buzz, a restaurant in Pony Village Mall, has become the newest member of Community Action Connect through a donation of certificates redeemable for burgers, soup, etc.
Volunteers are needed during the last week of January to help out with the annual Homeless Count. Volunteers will be asked to go to food pantries, libraries, etcŠand help to gather information about how many homeless people are in our area and why they are homeless. Volunteers will be trained during the weeks leading up to the count. If interested, please contact Jen S., at 888-7188.
Kudos to the South Coast community for its great donations and volunteer work to South Coast Food Share and Oregon Coast Community Action. This support has enabled more families to be served in our region.
The Court Appointed Special Advocates is having an open house on February 19th at CASA offices 341 E 2nd St. Coquille. This event will introduce perspective CASA volunteers to the office facilities, staff and all the opportunities needed to help CASA. CASA training will begin in March. If you would like to be a volunteer advocate for children, please call Twila V. at 396-1075.
Come and get a gift for your littlest sweeties on Valentines weekend at Pony Village Mall. ORCCA and the CASA program will be opening their test market of "Toy Tales" on Friday-Sunday February 13-15th at the mall. For several months we've been collecting gently used toys, and sporting equipment and now we have a nice selection of enticing items that will be on sale. All proceeds from the toy sale will help support CASA. If you have any clean, used items that you wish to donate for this wonderful event, please call Becky at 888-7436.
