Community Action Connect: An Opportunity for Neighbors to Help Their Neighbors!
Our last Toy Tales was such a success thanks to everyone who helped out! We have decided to make this an ongoing project with the next sale happening April 3-5th. Do you have gently used toys that you would like to donate? Toy Tales will gladly take them and make sure they have a good re-incarnation with other children in the community. Donate by taking your items to the South Coast Food Share Warehouse, or if you would like help with pick up, please call Becky at 888-7436. If you would like to volunteer to help with the Toy Tales project, please call Jen at 888-7188.
The Court Appointed Special Advocates of Coos County (CASA) invites you to help increase awareness of child abuse in our community. Child Abuse Awareness Month is the month of April, and we will be having our annual candle light vigil on the Coos Bay Boardwalk April 18th. We will have a display of the Forgotten Children Campaign, a performance by the local Peace Choir along with presentations of local dignitaries. Please come, and light a candle in support of children in the county. Questions- please call Becky Yaeger at 888-7436.
Kudos to Karen Gallagher, and ORCCA community volunteer, who, on her own initiative, has solicited local individuals and businesses for everyday times needed by homeless people, such as toiletries and personal hygiene. Karen has received nearly $400 worth of products from one business alone! Karen is a real go-getter, and we are proud of her efforts on behalf of homeless people. Thanks, Karen!
A family of four is in great need of a kitchen table and four chairs. If you have a used one in good condition you would like to donate, please call Jen at 888-7188.
There is a woman who is in need of maternity clothes. Her size is 11-12. If you have good, used maternity clothes in this size that you would like to donate, please call Jen at 888-7188.
