An Educational Program with a Certified Teacher included in our Adventures!
This summer ORCCA Great Afternoons will offering a variety of one week camps to spark student’s interest. Come with us as we “Get GOING” in our community! There will be opportunities to explore and practice the arts, learn about nature and it’s ability to power our world!
Participants will use all their knowledge and skills to plan, build, grow, and explore this world in a new way. Join us on this adventure as we “GET GOING”!
“GOING DRAMATIC”
Children’s Repertory of Oregon Workshop with professional drama coach Melanie Heard of the Poison Pen Players.

“GOING SOLAR”
Build a solar robot, listen to solar powered radio, cook in a solar oven! Enjoy robot races, action and adventure all week long.
July 11-15 10-2pm $100 Grades 1-8

“GOING ARTISTIC”
Learn the history of pottery, work with Coastal Ceramics Artists Bill and Mikayle Karcher to create your own pottery masterpiece.
July 25-29 10-2pm $100 Grades 1-6
Highland School, Coastal Ceramics Studio
“GOING GRUBBY”
Explore the community garden, harvest and weigh food, feed the worms, use the greenhouse and plant your own herb garden.
August 8-12 10-2pm $75 Grades 1-6

“GOING SLEUTHING”
Become part of a detective team and search for clues, fingerprints and more to solve real crimes! Sharpen your deducting skills!
August 15-19 10-2pm $75 Grades 2-6

The Great Afternoons summer program is included as part of a standard Great Afternoons day. (An extra charge for materials may apply). If you are not a regular Great Afternoons participant you can still “GET GOING” with us. The cost for a week’s attendance varies per camp. *Sliding scale available based on income.

Who should come?
Anyone who wants to get out of the house and explore the world of nature and art should attend the Great Afternoons “GET GOING” Summer Program.
Who can come?
Students who are entering the grades listed on the camp descriptions may attend the camps.
We will take part in the USDA Summer Free Lunch Program.
