Hours: Varies - up to 40 hours
Primary Purpose: To work with the Development Team and other ORCCA staff to mobilize internal and external resources to optimize the services that ORCCA’s children’s programs provide and enhance ORCCA’s communication tools.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
Support for CASA, Great Afternoons and other children’s programs including:
- Grant writing and management, including grant reports
- Development and implementation of special events
- Other fundraising, including annual letter writing campaign(s)
- Meeting with Program Directors on an ongoing basis to provide assistance with resource development and grant writing.
- New program development as needed
Manage and develop internal communications
- Develop and implement a plan for improving internal communication, including:
- Work plan distribution
- Social media tools & updates
- Awareness/use of organizational master calendar
- Edit and distribute the Echo and eConnect newsletters
Support other ORCCA communications
- Assist with production of the annual report as needed
- Assist with writing press releases, letters, PSA’s & other media announcements as needed
Other duties
- Regular attendance is a requirement of the position
- Participation in development team meetings
- Develop relationships with community organizations to support children’s programs
- Maintain good professional relationships with all programs
- Other duties as assigned
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Experience working with grants and contracts and in generating grant reports and budgets
- Excellent written and oral and presentation communication skills including ability to relate to diverse populations
- Good knowledge of general computer (PC and MAC) operations and familiarity with multiple applications including Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, and social media tools
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of teams/committees
- Ability to effectively delegate to others and to track and evaluate their results
- Strong organization, problem-solving, and analytical skills
- Versatility, flexibility, initiative, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm
- Ability to manage priorities, multiple tasks simultaneously and workflow, and organize work effectively with great attention to detail
- Ability to accurately analyze and interpret financial statements, budgets, and budget projections
- Passion, enthusiasm, focus, creativity, and a positive outlook especially in high stress conditions
- Professional appearance and demeanor

OR
B. A Bachelor Degree plus two years experience in a field directly related to the position description is required.
Work Environment:
- Geographic Area: Coos Bay
- Primary job site: Newmark Center
- May lift items up to 51 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.

- Licenses: A current Drivers License is required
- Proof of automobile liability insurance @ $100,000/300,000 liability limits
- Reliable transportation
- Must be drug free
- Must be able to pass the Criminal Background Check
- Able to drive/travel long distances
- Ability to sit at meetings for as long as four hours at a time
- Ability to work in excess of eight hours per day and during evenings as required
