Primary Purpose: The Finance Coordinator reports directly to the Finance Director to record and prepare financial statements that adhere to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP), regulatory requirements and company policies. The Finance Coordinator provides a high level of leadership and support to the members of the finance department, coordinating the overall workflow of the department.
Descriptions of Duties and Tasks:
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Regular attendance is a requirement of the position.
- Provide direct assistance to Finance Director, CEO, Program Directors, and Assistant to the CEO as requested.
- Prepare budgets and adjustments as directed to ensure proper balancing and compliance with state, federal and grant regulations.
- Ensure all accounts are coded properly and conform to state, federal and grant guidelines.
- Assist with the analysis of various accounts.
- Prepares and submits financial statements for the Board of Directors monthly.
- Prepares and submits Revenue and Expenses to Program Directors monthly.
- Responsible for generating, reviewing for accuracy, and submitting financial information reports as required by state, federal or grants to Program Directors monthly or as requested.
- Work closely with other members of the finance team to streamline efficiency.
- Assists with accounting audits and ensures that ORCCA is in compliance with all audit recommendations and findings.
- Provides advice and/or suggestions to improve financial controls.
- Other duties as assigned by the Finance Director and/or CEO.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Assistance to the Finance Director
- Process indirect adjustment.
- Process weatherization adjustment.
- Prepare Requests for Funds.
- Batch and prepare LIEAP and OEA payments in OPUS
- Prepare Financial Status reports.
- Prepare incoming electronic funds transfer payments and deposits.
- Prepare and maintain program budgets.
- Manage all current grants and contracts.
- Review and monitor trial balances with Finance Director.
- Review and monitor revenue and expenses with Finance Director.
- Prepare and distribute balance sheets as required.
- Prepare and distribute revenue and expense reports to as required.
- Payroll Processing
- Backup to Payroll Coordinator.
- Cash
- Backup for receiving daily cash.
- Backup for preparing daily bank deposits.
- Prepare monthly Bank Reconciliations for all accounts.
- Fixed Asset Inventory
- Update and maintain Fixed Asset inventory.
- Prepare Year End Inventory Report.
- Miscellaneous
- Actively support and attend Leadership Meetings.
- Cross train in other areas of business administration.
- Prepare and assist with annual audits.
- Support ORCCA by actively participating in meetings and activities as requested.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Knowledge of extensive accounting policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of accounting software (MIP Sage Fund Accounting a plus).
- Knowledge of OMB circulars A110, A133, A122.
- Ability to learn new procedures quickly.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Ability to handle a fast paced work environment.
- Knowledge of general accounting procedures and GAAP accounting.
- Continuous professional development to stay current with fund accounting as required.
- Knowledge of general office equipment.
- Ability to analyze and prepare Statement of Activities.
- Ability to analyze and prepare Cash Flow Statements.
- Ability to accurately analyze and interpret financial statements, budgets, and budget projections.
- Experience working with grants and contracts and in generating grant reports and budgets.
- Intermediate knowledge of computer (PC or MAC) operations and familiarity with multiple. applications including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access.
- Excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of teams/committees.
- Ability to effectively delegate to others and to track and evaluate their results.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills.

Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required
- Level V A. Bachelor Degree plus two years experience in a field directly related to the position description is required.
- Level VI A. Bachelor Degree with four years paid experience in a field directly related to the Position Description is required; OR
- B. Master Degree in a related field is required.
Work Environment:
- Geographic Area: Coos Bay
- Primary job site: Coos Bay
- May lift items up to 51 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Primarily indoors, in a climate-controlled environment. May not have access to sunlight. Occasional activities outside in a non-climate controlled environment.
- Requires prolonged sitting and standing.
- Requires stooping, bending and reaching.
Other:
- A current Drivers License is required.
- A good driving record is necessary.
- Proof of automobile liability insurance @ 100,000/300,000 liability limits and maintain such limits
- Reliable transportation of getting to work.
- Must be free from illegal drugs, may be subject to suspicion testing.
- Must be able to pass the Criminal Background Check .
- Able to drive/travel long distances.
- Ability to sit at meetings for as long as four hours at a time.
- Ability to work in excess of eight hours per day and during evenings or weekends as required.
