PRIMARY PURPOSE: ORCCA’s Development Department is a creative and dynamic group that works together as a team to accomplish a variety of tasks, and is part of the office of the CEO. The Development Coordinator will assist the CEO with focusing on increasing the funding and other resources available to ORCCA programs and departments through fundraising, grant writing, construction projects, program development and many other projects.
Essential Job Responsibilities
- Orient self with all aspects of the agency by:
- Meeting with all Program Directors on an ongoing basis to provide assistance with volunteer need and grant writing
- Determine goals
- Determine objectives
- Determine budgets
- Determine other materials needed for successful completion of project
- To provide backup and support between Development Team positions.
- Develop and maintain a grant writing program for the agency by:
- Researching potential grants online and through alternative approaches.
- Research and develop information for use in grant writing
- Writing grants
- Overseeing grants
- Develop database of grant opportunities, deadlines, etc.
- Document deadlines, minimum requirements and other relevant information.
- Solicit and Develop letters of inquiry to potential grantors and donors
- Developing and maintaining a donor and grantor database system, acknowledging donors, creating mailing lists, etc.
- Assisting the Chief Executive Officer in anticipating and proposing solutions to operating, program and financial problems and issues relating to grant writing and soliciting donors.
- Reviews and evaluates the effectiveness of grants and funding sources, offer technical assistance and makes recommendations for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with any and all contract/grant reporting requirements for private or public funding, licensing, and/or regulatory agencies.
- Maintain required records, reports, and files in an organized and appropriately confidential manner by documenting procedures and results.
- Other duties as requested by the Chief Executive Officer
- Regular attendance is a requirement of the position.
- Experience working with grants and contracts and in generating grant reports and budgets.
- Good knowledge of general computer (PC or MAC) operations and familiarity with multiple applications including Word, Excel, Power Point, and Access
- Excellent written, oral and presentation communication skills including ability to relate to diverse client populations.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as a member of teams/committees.
- Ability to effectively delegate to others and to track and evaluate their results.
- Strong organization, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
- Versatility, flexibility, and willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.
- Ability to manage priorities, multiple tasks simultaneously and workflow, and organize work effectively with great attention to detail.
- Ability to accurately analyze and interpret financial statements, budgets, and budget projections.

- Ability to work well in partnerships with funding sources, community partners, staff and Board of Directors.

Knowledge/Skills/Expereince Required
Level V
Four years paid experience and/or training plus an Associate
Degree or Certificate in a related field is required;
OR
A Bachelor Degree plus two years experience in a field directly related to the position description is required.
Work Environment:
- Geographic Area: Coos, Curry and Western Douglas Counties
- Primary job site: Newmark Center
- May lift items up to 51 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.

- Licenses: A current Oregon Drivers License is required.
- A good driving record is necessary.
- Proof of automobile liability insurance.

- Must be able to pass the State of Oregon Criminal Background Check.
