Oregon Coast Community Action is now recruiting 14 AmeriCorps members through the LINKS program at the Northwest Service Academy for part time positions in Reedsport, Coos Bay, and Brookings and more. LINKS Energy Services Volunteer – Brookings
Assist Energy Services in Curry County to provide crisis services for adults and families; plan and complete outreach efforts to educate, recruit donors and more; identify needs of Curry County services and research, plan and assist in coordinating funding resources with the ORCCA Development Team. Update the Curry County Resource Guide and other tasks/activities as needed.
LINKS Integrated Services Volunteer – Coos Bay
To increase access for customers and families in need throughout Coos and Curry counties by assisting to integrate all direct services of ORCCA – this will allow more families in need to receive crisis and other services.
LINKS Energy Development Volunteer – Coos Bay
Assist in development of alternative and renewable energy resources that could be provided through ORCCA Energy Services Division or Weatherization Program to low income families in Coos and Curry counties. This may include research on “green” energy projects (with current emphasis on solar and wind), assistance in writing grants or letters of interest/request, or various related projects.
LINKS Family Food Program Volunteer – Coos Bay
Coordinate and assist in managing the Family Food Program at South Coast Food Share, which serves the families of South Coast Head Start – both programs are part of Oregon Coast Community Action. This pilot program provides family food boxes donated foods for emergency distribution through Head start sites as well as products for use in ORCCA Head Start kitchens that serve Head Start classrooms. Provide additional assistance to SCFS staff & volunteers; help support 33 local food pantries through SCFS network services, training videos and other assistance as needed
LINKS Fresh Alliance Volunteer – Coos Bay
Assist South Coast Food Share staff in coordinating fresh food donations from local grocery stores in the Fresh Alliance program. Position includes assistance with paperwork, food pick-up, food delivery, providing training to new staff at participating stores and training to local food pantries receiving product, and maintaining warehouse inventory of Fresh Alliance products. Assist in SCFS warehouse, providing any reports or data needed to SCFS staff and more!
SCFS LINKS Projects Volunteer – Coos Bay
Assist South Coast Food Share staff, ORCCA Development staff and VISTA members in a variety of special projects, such as the Local Food Resource Guide, assisting with the Local Eating And Farming group, Re-Usable Bags project, the Slow-Fast Food project and more. Assist staff with fundraising/food drive events in Coos and Curry counties. Assist in SCFS office with any necessary tasks, in SCFS warehouse and food management tasks as needed.
SCFS LINKS Community Garden Volunteer – Coos Bay
Assist SCFS staff, ORCCA Development staff and VISTA members by working with local gardening groups, Master Gardeners, and local schools trying to establish community gardens and other community garden groups. Coordinate efforts to establish gardens and support education of local children on food sources, support “Grow A Row” projects, help establish SCFS garden on Community Campus, and more. Assist staff with fundraising and food drive events. Assist in SCFS office with any necessary tasks, in SCFS warehouse and food management tasks as needed

Work with South Coast Food Share staff, ORCCA Development staff and VISTA members by working with local gardening groups, Master Gardeners, and local schools to establish community gardens. Coordinate efforts to establish gardens and support education of local children on food sources, & support “Grow A Row” projects. Assist staff with fundraising events in Curry County. Assist in SCFS office & warehouse tasks.
LINKS Great Garden Volunteer – Reedsport
Assist Great Afternoons & ORCCA staff, and work with AmeriCorps & VISTA members by managing the Great Garden at Great Afternoons after-school, daycare and preschool program. Work with local garden groups, Great Garden volunteers and students to continue food education resources, food donations for families in need and more. Coordinate efforts with Master Gardeners, support “Grow A Row” projects and establish events to support the Great Garden, and lots more!
LINKS Great Afternoons Volunteer – Reedsport
Assist staff at the Great Afternoons after-school, daycare and preschool program by creating office coordination systems, project and events tracking methods. Coordinate volunteers for Great Afternoons, Great Beginnings, and assist to coordinate volunteers for various Great Afternoons events, the Great Garden, and more!!
LINKS Marketing Volunteer – Coos Bay
Continue projects to create marketing tools, marketing videos, assist with ORCCA marketing projects and support agency publicist. Oversee letter campaign, and work with promoting ORCCA and its programs to youth in the community. Design flyers, promotional materials, and complete regular tasks to support publicity projects.
LINKS South Coast Head Start Literacy Volunteer – Coos Bay
Assist staff at the South Coast Head Start preschool program by working as a classroom assistant, working with children and families, and improving the opportunities of preschool students. Work with Head Start staff on projects and tasks as needed, support staff, work to coordinate activities and more.

LINKS Snack Pack Volunteer – Coos Bay
Assist Development & SCFS staff with the expansion and coordination of the Share Bear Snack Pack program, which feeds hungry children on weekends and school breaks who may have no access to food. Tasks include managing inventory, assisting to coordinate volunteers and fundraising events, and more. Assist in the ongoing expansion efforts for Snack Pack in our region. Work with ORCCA Development staff on projects and tasks as needed.
