JOB TITLE: WX Energy Auditor
PROJECT: Energy Services Division, Weatherization
REPORTS TO: Weatherization Coordinator

SALARY RANGE: Levels IV to V Depending upon Certification(s)
HOURS: 40 hours per week

PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Assist Weatherization Coordinator in Field and in Office within Coos and Curry Counties

DESCRIPTIONS OF DUTIES AND TASKS:
  1. Schedule and perform energy audits and diagnostic testing on homes being weatherized using:
    • blower-door testing,
    • duct blaster,
    • furnace duct evaluation and repair,
    • evaluate air-sealing of homes,
    • client education and
    • evaluation of lighting and appliance replacement
  2. This also includes various office support tasks as assigned.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
  1. Process client intakes, maintain and track Client data base / waiting list
  2. Organize and maintain Client files
  3. Verify Client income eligibility
  4. Schedule and perform energy audits
  5. Resolve minor Client concerns and issues
  6. Prepare program correspondence
  7. Perform pre- and post- blower door diagnostic testing
  8. Perform furnace duct testing and evaluate sealing of the system to state standards utilizing a duct blaster
  9. evaluate air sealing and as prescribed on weatherization jobs, both houses and mobile homes
  10. Provide energy education to customers
  11. Evaluate lighting and appliance replacement
  12. Perform minor vehicle maintenance and inspection
  13. Help track and maintain an equipment and material inventory
  14. Attend meetings as needed; may include but is not limited to local, state or federal programs
  15. Perform other duties as requested by management
  16. Regular attendance is a requirement of the position.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
  1. Must have knowledge of and experience in residential construction.
  2. Must be physically able to perform all required field work.
  3. Ability to perform data entry and word processing.
  4. Knowledge of modern office procedures and practices (inc. computers, calculators, fax machines, etc.)
  5. Ability to work independently.
  6. Must be able to work well with the public, including Clients, Utilities, Vendors and Contractors, both in person and over the telephone.
  7. Basic math skills.
  8. Must be self motivated and work well without direct supervision.


QUALIFICATION STANDARDS

LEVEL IV:  Four years paid experience and/or training directly related to the Position Description is required.  An Associates Degree or Certificate in a related field may be substituted for up to two years paid experience.

LEVEL V:

A.    Four years paid experience and/or training plus an Associate Degree or Certificate in a related field is required;  OR

B.  A Bachelor Degree plus two years experience in a field directly related to the position
description is required.

Either Level - Waiver available with CEO approval. 

Must pass 2 out of the 3 components of the state weatherization certification within the first 18 months of employment

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Geographic Area:  Coos and Curry Counties
  • Primary Job Site:  Coos Bay
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
  • Indoor and outdoor environment.
  • Work within a team environment.
  • Ability to work and drive safely in a variety of conditions, (i.e. close quarters, adverse weather conditions)


PHYSICAL DEMANDS

  • While performing the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is frequently required to:
  • Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands (to finger, handle or feel), reach (with hands and arms), talk and hear.
  • Regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; climb or balance.
  • Occasionally lift and/or move up to 51 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Must have specific vision abilities required by this job, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.


OTHER:

  • Licenses: A current Drivers License is required.
  • A good driving record is necessary.
  • Proof of automobile liability insurance.
  • Reliable transportation
  • Must be drug free or able to pass random drug testing as requested.
  • Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check
  • Able to drive long distances
  • Ability to sit at meetings for as long as four hours at a time.
  • Ability to work in excess of eight hours per day and during evenings as required.
  • Ability to pass a prescreening physical exam.
  • Health Appraisal form completed
  • Ability to attend trainings for up to a week or more at a time out of town.
