HOURS: 40 hours per week
PRIMARY PURPOSE:
Assist Weatherization Coordinator in Field and in Office within Coos and Curry Counties
DESCRIPTIONS OF DUTIES AND TASKS:
- Schedule and perform energy audits and diagnostic testing on homes being weatherized using:
- blower-door testing,
- duct blaster,
- furnace duct evaluation and repair,
- evaluate air-sealing of homes,
- client education and
- evaluation of lighting and appliance replacement
- This also includes various office support tasks as assigned.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Process client intakes, maintain and track Client data base / waiting list
- Organize and maintain Client files
- Verify Client income eligibility
- Schedule and perform energy audits
- Resolve minor Client concerns and issues
- Prepare program correspondence
- Perform pre- and post- blower door diagnostic testing
- Perform furnace duct testing and evaluate sealing of the system to state standards utilizing a duct blaster
- evaluate air sealing and as prescribed on weatherization jobs, both houses and mobile homes
- Provide energy education to customers
- Evaluate lighting and appliance replacement
- Perform minor vehicle maintenance and inspection
- Help track and maintain an equipment and material inventory
- Attend meetings as needed; may include but is not limited to local, state or federal programs
- Perform other duties as requested by management
- Regular attendance is a requirement of the position.
- Must have knowledge of and experience in residential construction.
- Must be physically able to perform all required field work.
- Ability to perform data entry and word processing.
- Knowledge of modern office procedures and practices (inc. computers, calculators, fax machines, etc.)
- Ability to work independently.
- Must be able to work well with the public, including Clients, Utilities, Vendors and Contractors, both in person and over the telephone.
- Basic math skills.
- Must be self motivated and work well without direct supervision.
QUALIFICATION STANDARDS
LEVEL IV: Four years paid experience and/or training directly related to the Position Description is required. An Associates Degree or Certificate in a related field may be substituted for up to two years paid experience.
LEVEL V:
A. Four years paid experience and/or training plus an Associate Degree or Certificate in a related field is required; OR
B. A Bachelor Degree plus two years experience in a field directly related to the position
description is required.
Either Level - Waiver available with CEO approval.
Must pass 2 out of the 3 components of the state weatherization certification within the first 18 months of employment
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
- Geographic Area: Coos and Curry Counties
- Primary Job Site: Coos Bay
- The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
- Indoor and outdoor environment.
- Work within a team environment.
- Ability to work and drive safely in a variety of conditions, (i.e. close quarters, adverse weather conditions)
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
- While performing the duties and responsibilities of this job, the employee is frequently required to:
- Regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands (to finger, handle or feel), reach (with hands and arms), talk and hear.
- Regularly required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; climb or balance.
- Occasionally lift and/or move up to 51 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
- Must have specific vision abilities required by this job, including close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
OTHER:
- Licenses: A current Drivers License is required.
- A good driving record is necessary.
- Proof of automobile liability insurance.
- Reliable transportation
- Must be drug free or able to pass random drug testing as requested.
- Must be able to pass a Criminal Background Check
- Able to drive long distances
- Ability to sit at meetings for as long as four hours at a time.
- Ability to work in excess of eight hours per day and during evenings as required.
- Ability to pass a prescreening physical exam.
- Health Appraisal form completed
- Ability to attend trainings for up to a week or more at a time out of town.
