The totals are in: Empty Bowls brought in more than $6,000 to feed local hungry people.

Twenty-one local potters bent over pottery wheels last fall to make bowls that would be filled with soup at a fundraising supper at Oregon Coast Culinary Institute. Money raised was turned over to the Oregon Coast Community Action. ORCCA turns each dollar into seven pounds of food and distributes it to local food banks.

Our thanks go out to Chef Hanlin of OCCI and his wonderful students; all the potters; James Fritz, associate professor of art, the Southwestern Oregon Community College; and most of all to you, the generous public who supported the project.
