Great Beginnings offers childcare to infants and toddlers from 6 weeks through 48 months, and this grant helps support these local kids to have a place in a peaceful, safe and happy environment with well-trained and loving staff at Great Afternoons.

This is well timed, as multi-year grants help programs like Great Afternoons and Great Beginnings navigate the challenges of a poor economy in a community with critical needs, and provides a life raft these uncertain economic times.
Great Afternoons also relies on the support of local volunteers, and donors, and a diverse range of support helps support as many children in the Reedsport area as possible. Great Afternoons programming provides over 60 children ages 3-6 with a safe and productive environment, and approximately 75% of children receiving services are eligible for free or reduced cost lunch, a reliable barometer of financial need.
Great Afternoons is the only sliding-scale daycare service in the Reedsport area, and helps many parents to better support their families, seek higher education or other methods to improve their lives and the lives of their children.
