A night of sequins and sparkles is coming to Coos Bay! This July, South Coast residents are invited to join us for Drag on the Bay, a charity drag show organized by the Imperial Sovereign Court of the Emerald Empire benefitting the South Coast Food Share, a program of Oregon Coast Community Action.
On Saturday, July 7, entertainers from all around Oregon will take the stage at Pyramid Club in Coos Bay to raise money for hungry families of the South Coast! Pyramid Club is located at 375 Central Avenue in Coos Bay, the top floor of the Old City Hall building. The event is 21+ with doors opening at 8 and the show starting at 9. Raffle prizes and drink specials will be going on all night! 100% of the proceeds from the $5 cover charge and raffle will go towards distributing food to communities in Coos and Curry Counties.
"The members of the ISCEE love reaching out to make new friends in our neighboring cities and communities,” says Bill Sullivan, Board President of the ISCEE. “The chance to entertain as well as help out a great cause is always a draw for us and probably the main reason many of us have devoted decades to helping."
Drag On The Bay is the first time ISCEE has appeared in Coos Bay in almost 30 years! Founded in 1974 and a member of the International Court System, the ISCEE is the oldest Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, and Transgender organizations in the area and has been raising money for a variety of southern Oregon charities for 37 years! The group is committed to not only raising money for charities, but also promoting education and diversity in communities, welcoming anyone who wants to become a member. The South Coast Food Share is a program of Oregon Coast Community Action. All food donated will be distributed to the 30 partner agencies of the South Coast Food Share Network at no cost. Oregon Coast Community Action is a non-profit network of programs that help feed, house, warm and educate the communities of the South Coast.
