Working together, the members of the Home Builders Association of Southwestern Oregon have collected $982 in donations to help feed hungry families in the Bay Area this winter.
South Coast Food Share, a program of Oregon Coast Community Action, can provide and distribute seven pounds of food for each $1 donated. With the funding donated by the association, South Coast Food Share may be able to provide as much as 6,874 pounds of food to hungry families.
According to Nichole Hoffman, Executive Officer for the Home Builders Association of Southwestern Oregon, the association has been a dedicated supporter of South Coast Food Share for many years.
“The Association believes in the purpose, promise and the great need fulfilled by South Coast Food Share,” said Nichole Hoffman.
More than ever, families in our region are struggling with hunger, homelessness and other crisis needs. Oregon Coast Community Action and other local organizations, including more than 30 local food pantries in the South Coast Food Share network, are working hard to make sure everyone in our community is safe, warm and well fed this winter.
“The generosity of local businesspeople and members of the Home Builders Association at a time when everyone in our community is struggling, is really amazing,” said Mary Schoen-Clark, CEO of Oregon Coast Community Action. “The donations of the Association will make it possible for hungry children and families in our community to fight hunger everyday.”
