Hello Everyone,

This is just a friendly reminder that the Network Meeting will be happening this Thursday, May 20th at the Nancy Devereux Center. For those of you who might not know where the center is, we've enclosed some directions on how to get there from Highway 101.

  1. Turn RIGHT onto US-101/OREGON COAST HWY. Continue to follow US-101 N/OREGON COAST HWY
  2. Turn LEFT onto NEWMARK ST.
  3. NEWMARK ST becomes NEWMARK AVE/CAPE ARAGO HWY.
  4. 1200 NEWMARK AVE is on the RIGHT.

We look forward to seeing you all there.

Blanketing the Network

The South Coast Food Share is going to be receiving 109 more cases of emergency blankets. You may remember when the call went out a few months back; that the Department of Defense was going to be giving us emergency blankets to give out to the network.Well we’re going to be receiving more and we’d like to reopen the offer. The blankets come 12 to a case, and we’ll be receiving 109 cases. We don’t know exactly when the blankets will be arriving but we assume it will be in the next two weeks.

Each Blanket is individually wrapped in plastic and will store well until needed.  So if anyone can make use of some emergency blankets please let Morgan Filbert know at 541-888-7297 or at mfilbert (at) orcca (dot) us.

Thank you.

We don’t think we can impress upon you how very important this is. Everyone in the Network needs to check and make sure that they comply with the new tax laws. If you are, or are sponsored by, a non-profit whose annual yearly revenue is under $25,000 you need to file a tax form with the IRS. This is very crucial. You need to send in a 990-N form to the IRS by May 15. The details of the form can be found here.

Recently you may have received a form from FEMA entitled "Key Changes and Guideline Clarifications / Reminders: Phase 28."

These forms were not meant to be sent to the local agencies. They needed to be filled out here at the Warehouse. It is very important that we receive these forms. If you have received them please, either mail them to us at:

Oregon Coast Community Action
2110 Newmark, Ave.
Coos Bay, OR 97420

Or give the forms and an envelope with your pantry name on it to one of our delivery drivers. They'll make sure we get the forms, thank you.

After the recent Can-Do Food Drive we noticed that several of the barrels from the collection sites were missing.Unfortunately we have a limited supply of barrels to use here at the SCFS, and we need to get each of them back.

If you could please let us know if you picked one of the barrels up, we will pick it up from you on our next delivery.

In addition, if you have not yet reported your weights for the drive will you please contact Morgan Filbert, at mfilbert (at) orcca (dot) us or 541-888-7297, and let him know it would be appreciated. We need to get these pound numbers to KCBY.

Thank You.
