FOOD SAFTEY NOTIFICATIONS
Food recalls happen infrequently but when they do it is important that your agency can be contacted quickly so that we can protect our clients. Food born illness can kill so it is very important to take action when there is a food safety warning or a recall.
- Your agency will receive a notice from SCFS warning you about potentially dangerous food products. Some times these will only be a warning, in other cases it will be food recall.
- These notices will be sent out to your agency in 2 ways, by email and by fax. We use two methods to insure that someone at your agency can be reached.
- When you receive a notice your agency needs to respond immediately by signing the notice or sending it back to SCFS. It does not matter if you receive it by email or fax the process is the same.
- Each agency needs to choose someone respond to receive and respond to food safety notices. Normally this will be the same person that receives your food orders. Let SCFS know when ever your agency changes its email address, fax number or phone number.
- Keep your fax machine ON and computer in good operating order. Please check it to make sure it has paper and ink.
- Have a person from your agency check your email and fax messages regularly.
