Community Action Adventure for the 2010-2011 program year will create more opportunities for youth. In addition to increasing the variety and frequency of activities, and the number of community partners, ORCCA is endeavoring to create opportunities for youth to participate in the “Ultimate Adventure.” Our vision incorporates the natural beauty of the region, the value of environmental stewardship. Youth will participate in service and adventure activities in the Watershed, Dunes and Beyond.
Participants will also have the opportunity to travel to Washington, DC to participate in the “Power of Partnerships: Coast to Coast” service exchange in Spring 2011, and in Summer 2011 receive Wilderness First Aid training and Leave No Trace Certification with “Watershed, Dunes and Beyond”. These experiences provide a lasting impact on the lives of participants, both personally and professionally. The focus on
sustainability, the power of community partnerships, and the inherent fun of working as a group towards a positive, common goal has broad appeal for youth.
The investment in local youth is an investment in the preservation of our community’s most precious natural resources, and it is our pleasure to invite your support in developing the next generation of community leaders.
Our programs strive to engage people in meaningful philanthropic endeavors from a very young age, and extend on a continuum through young adulthood, so as to help develop strong future community leaders.
