Are You Eligible For Oregon Emergency Rental Assistance?  (Must meet all to be eligible)

  1. Are you seeking assistance to pay rent and/or utilities? Do you have an unpaid rent balance for your primary rental residence that begins on or after March 13, 2020?A

  2. Has anyone in the household experienced a reduction/ loss of income since April 1, 2020, related to COVID-19? (and/OR incurred significant expenses OR other financial hardships OR qualified for unemployment benefits)

  3. Do you have a past-due rent notice, an eviction notice, or can you demonstrate housing instability or risk of homelessness, past due utilities, and/or need assistance paying future rent or utilities?

 

Note: Your immigration status will not be a barrier to receiving these services.

How to COVID Rent Relief Help

  • Pick up a paper application from one of our Office in Coos Bay, Gold Beach, or Brookings

  • Have us mail you an application

    • Call to provide your mailing address. (Eligibility will NOT be determined over the phone)

    • Complete the Application Request Form online

 

Needed for Qualification

  • Last 30-days of income verification for all household members over the age of 18 years.

  • Your landlord’s/property manager’s contact information

 

Once Qualified the Following Documents are Required

  • Proof / Denial of Unemployment -OR- proof that you’ve applied for Unemployment

    • Ineligibility for unemployment benefits may not disqualify you

  • A lay-off notice from employer; notification of furlough status or drop-in hours

  • Copy or picture of photo ID for all adults over 18 in the household

  • Rental / Lease / Roommate Agreement

  • If you are unable to gather these items listed above, please apply anyway! We may still be able to help.

Frequently Asked Questions

What if I owe a lot of back rent?

We can help with rent owed as far back as April 1, 2020

 

What if I already signed a payment agreement with my landlord/property manager?

We can pay off that agreement if the amount isn’t before April 1, 2020

What if I managed to pay my rent before but can’t pay it now?

We can help with future rent payments. Relief is available for payments through June 30, 2021

 

What if I need help with RV Park space rent?

We can help with future rent payments. Relief is available for payments through June 30, 2021

We need to have you add these things to your application:

  • Last 60 days of all types of income from all household members 18 or over

  • Contact info for your landlord/property management company

    • As soon as we have these things, we will see if we can help you and will email or text you.

      • Please make sure to check your email and phone before calling to ask about your application

  • If we are able to help, we will also need these things from you:

    • Copy or picture of photo ID for all adults over 18

    • Rental / Lease / Roommate Agreement, signed

    • Copy of your eviction/72-hour notice -OR- Copy of your move-in paperwork (if applicable)
